Every horse has a story, and every rider has one too.

Horse and rider sessions are about more than creating beautiful images. They are about documenting the bond, memories, and years spent together with the animals that become part of our lives.

This horse and rider session took place in Marengo, Illinois, and featured two beautiful horses. We spent the evening photographing each horse individually, along with images featuring both horses together. Including multiple horses created a unique gallery filled with variety and meaningful moments.

Why Horse & Rider Sessions Matter

For many riders, their horse is more than just an animal. They are a partner, a teammate, and part of the family.

From first shows and barn days to weekend rides and everyday moments, every horse has a story worth capturing.

Professional equine photography creates images you can enjoy beyond social media. These sessions create artwork for your home and memories you can look back on for years.

Photographing Multiple Horses

One of our favorite parts of this session was capturing the relationship between the rider and both horses.

When time allows, we love photographing each horse individually before creating images with everyone together. This gives you a gallery that represents each horse's personality while also documenting the connection you share.

The Best Light for Equine Photography

This session was photographed during golden hour, when the light is softer and creates a warm, natural look. Evening sessions help highlight the details of both the horse and rider while creating a timeless feel.
